Heungman was brought up in Hong Kong, lived in California and New York for 15 years and currently resides in Shanghai. Graduate with a BA degree in Film-Studies from California State University, Heungman also went on to study photography at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. He has been a New York photographer for the past 12 years and his works have been published in Rolling Stone, Spin and Paper Magazines. Currently Heungman is working on a series of photograph, The New Noir, with his application of his early love of American film noir found during his film school days in Los Angeles, as he is paying homage to the recent past within his life and works which constantly on roads full of left-turns and occasional U-turns. His photographic works are widely collected among private collectors in the United States.
