After obtaining a degree in Account and Finance from the University of British Columbia, Ranee furthered her studies in fashion at Parsons School of Design, New York. After interning at Donna Karen, Ranee launched her own brand ranee k in New York and opened shops in Hong Kong. In placing great emphasis on her oriental heritage, the ranee k collection is a fusion of Eastern sensibilities with nostalgic influences. Ranee involves her designs in a range of projects. She does fashion label and uniform design, together with brand endorsement and promotion for different brand names. Ranee also frequently participates in Art and Charity functions, such as Building Hong Kong Exhibition, Red Tee Charity Campaign, Dare to Go Bare Charity Tee Design. She was awarded Young Talent Designer Award 2002 by Harper’s Bazaar and Outstanding Successful Woman Award 2005 by Marie Claire. Glamorous Lady Award 2005 by la prairie and Top 40 designers for 40 under 40, Perspective 2007 and very lately the Ten Outstanding Designers Award. Currently Ranee is working on an exhibition and catwalk show for the Tokyo Designers Week as a representative from Hong Kong. She is developing ideas under the concept of Atler Ego’s Return that describes the journey of the cover of the artificiality on the surface and the uncover of natural beauty in our alter egos.
